Front desk employees, billers, technicians, opticians, managers, optometrists, and ophthalmologists directly affect the bottom line and patient satisfaction. Yet all too often, managers choose candidates who fall short of our expectations. Eighty-five years of scientific research show that simply reviewing resumes and conducting interviews are significantly less effective than using pre-employment assessments to predict job performance.
Traits that Predict Sales Performance
In a meta-analytic review to predict customer service performance, Drs. Murray Barrick and Michael Mount analyzed 117 studies of more than 23,000 individuals. They found that a certain personality trait predicted job performance more effectively than any other personality trait.
In another study, they found that two personality traits predicted performance for jobs with high interpersonal interactions. The Optimize Hire Assessment scores candidates on this key cluster of traits among others.
