Entrepreneurs directly affect the success of any new venture. Yet all too often, managers choose candidates who fall short of our expectations. Eighty-five years of scientific research show that simply reviewing resumes and conducting interviews are significantly less effective than using pre-employment assessments to predict job performance.
Traits that Predict Sales Performance
In one study of entrepreneurs, Drs. Frese and Glaub found that situational judgment predicts entrepreneur firm success. They found that entrepreneurs with high situational judgment generated 65% more sales revenue than those with low situational judgment.
In a meta-analytic review to predict entrepreneur performance, Drs. Zhao, Seibert, and Lumpkin analyzed 60 studies of more than 15,000 individuals.
